System for sampling and detection of coronavirus and other airborne respiratory diseases

VI04000071
Description

The project focuses on the development of a device capable of sampling airborne viruses responsible for respiratory infections in humans for subsequent analysis of their presence, with regard to the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic. The main purpose of the sampling device should be the monitoring of areas with a high concentration of people. The output of the project will be a device capable of sampling air from the guaranteed environment on a system of nanofiber filters or gel surface, where virus particles will be captured and detected using RT-qPCR and MOL-PCR. The efficiency tests of the device will be performed with a non-pathogenic coronavirus, after which the sampler will be tested in real operation. The results of the project will be presented in professional forums and in scientific journals.
